Lisyanet Rodríguez (b. Sancti Spíritus, Cuba) graduated from the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) Havana, 1013. Lives and works in United States. Lisyanet drawings start from the contemplative imitation of reality to reflect non-traditional notions of beauty, to explore the passing time, to examine the complexity and fragility of nature. Elements and concepts are instrumentals in her work: the body, the pain, the trauma in their relationship to physical and psychological confrontation. Psychological and dramatic themes are highlighting the widening breach between the ideal life and the real. Recent works deal with the disparity, multiples, the life cycle, and the search for meaning.
