Maria Sanchez (b, Las Villas. Cuba, 1952). A graduated of the University of Havana with a degree in Spanish Literature’. She is a self-taught artist. Her work has been exhibited in personal and group shows in Cuba, Latin America, The United States and Europe. She has also participated in important art fairs (Art Miami, Santa Fe Art Fair, Red Dot Art Fair, Chicago Art Fair) and museums exhibitions ( Bellas Artes Museum in Havana, Santa Fe Museum of History, Naples Museum of Art, MOOLA in Long Beach, California). Some of of her works (large formats) decorate buildings in Havana and Varadero and many are part of important private collections worldwide. She has also illustrated children’s books for prestigious editors and publishers such as Scholatic/Lectorum in New York and Everest Publisher in Spain. She currently lives and work in Southwest Florida.
