Jose Luis Fariñas García (b. in Havana, 1972) He graduated from the San Alejandro Academy in 1991, and the Instituto Superior de Arte in 1995. In 1986 he made his first personal exhibition titled Divino Inferno with twenty-seven pens and eighteen crayons on cardboard, was presented at the Teodoro Ramos del Cerro Art Gallery. He has participated in thirty-nine exhibitions, six personal and thirty collectives, twenty-three of them in Cuba and sixteen in countries of Europe, North America and Asia, with oils, watercolors, and pens. His works are preserved in private collections in Havana, London, Paris, Cologne, Oslo, New York, California, Miami, Santurce and Montreal; among them are John Le Carré, Carlos Weil, Dulce María Loynaz, José Prats Sariol, Tomás Sánchez, Renato Prada Oropesa, Jay D. Hyman and Winifried Wunsch, as well as those who make up the permanent funds of the Bernheim Gallery and the Antike Gallery with pieces of small formats the latter. His drawings and illustrations have been published in books and magazines of Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Panama, Canada and Japan, being frequent its appearance in the pages of the Gazette of Cuba, Union and Crime and Punishment Magazine, publications of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba.
